This post is about what the ECUHELP KTflash Dongle is used for. How to use it after receiving it?
Step 1. KTflash Software Download and one-click installation
After receiving the KTflash dongle, we take out the dongle and plug it into the USB port of the computer (with Win 10 / Win11 system and the antivirus needs to be turned off). For the software, browse ecuhelpshop.com “Downloads” section to download, after downloading, click “Open” to install it, the installation is one-click and easy to do, so I will not demonstrate the installation here.
Step 2. KTflash License Activation
After installation, we open the software and click “Programmer” to see the ECU models that are supported by the KTflash.
If the dongle doesn’t activate any model, the display is gray, and you can’t enter it by clicking the model.
It will prompt it to be activated. Just go back to the homepage to activate the model, select the model you want to activate, and then pay.
If you don’t want to activate it on the software, you can also go to ECUHELPshop.com to activate it directly.
To activate it, you need to log in to our dongle. Click the avatar icon in the upper right corner to log in immediately and you can activate it.
If you don’t need to activate it temperately, ECUHELP have some free functions. For example, click on “Maintenance Community”; click on “Check Bosch Number”, and the website will pop up, then enter the number on the ECU and you can query it. Other free functions include wiring diagrams and some virtual files.
Step 3. KTflash Dongle Recovery or Lost
If you want your KTflash Dongle to be able to be recovered even if it is broken or accidentally lost, go to the homepage to register, which is the same as the steps to register for any account.
Step 4. Use KTflash to read and write, DTC OFF/ TProt OFF/ IMMO OFF, checksum etc.
Next, we will demonstrate the reading and writing with KTflash, for example, EDC17C42.
To connect to the ECU, you need to use J2534 hardware, whether it is PCM TOOL or EOBD scanner Tool Universal J2534.
But if you want to read and write all the supported models, ECUHELP advises you use our specified hardware EOBD scanner Tool Universal J2534. Different hardware runs with different drivers. You can visit ECUHELPshop.com “Downloads” section to download or message WhatsApp: +8618205996549 for the driver (the driver is the KT200Plus driver).
We query in the KTflash software according to the model i.e EDC17C42, KTflash supports keyword search, and after entering the page, we connect the hardware according to the wiring diagram.
Then connect to the J2534 hardware.
Now we can start reading and writing.
Click “Identify” first. It will automatically identify your chip.
After identification, select the data you want to read and write.
I will read and write EP file first, after reading is complete, it will pop up the address to save the file.
Then read and write flash files.
If you want to do DTC OFF/ IMMO OFF, you need to load the flash file first. Don’t choose the error file. After loading, click Fault Code Management, select the fault code to be turned off and save it.
Do IMMO OFF can also be done by clicking after entering.
TPro is mainly used to turn off the anti-theft when it is not effective and the car cannot be started after turning it off.
Finally, we click “Write”.
For the software, all ecu models have checksums.
After waiting for the write to be completed, the read, write and modify operations are over with KTflash dongle.
